My name is Sam, and this is my site to document my journey going from a college grad with a degree in journalism to a full-time public librarian. I'm going to get into how I decided to pursue this career, applying to master's programs in library science, and everything else between and beyond. There are tons of resources online that give you the facts about this process, but I wanted to add my voice to the blogs covering the personal side of it.

After all, one of my loves has always been writing (and stories in general). That's why I went to school for journalism and now want to become a librarian. I believe stories are vital for connecting people and changing minds for the better. I want to be part of the solution to give everybody access to these vital stories in order to connect communities and simply help people live their best lives.
